X-CALIBR™ is a roll-formed, exceptionally strong, structural system that is completely pre-fabricated without the need for drilling, cutting, welding or measuring.

With a nominal material thickness of 1.95mm, X-CALIBR™ roll-formed steel sections are pre-assembled to form members configured as beams, columns, wind posts, rafters, girts and purlins.

The completed members are then transported onsite to be installed. X-CALIBR™ members can be used to portal frame an entire mid to large-span project. The depth and width can be increased to cater for the structural demands of larger spans.

Slash time and cost compared with traditional structural systems

X-CALIBR™ members require significantly less raw material, but are equal in strength to traditional structural steel with the advantage of lower base material costs. The precision roll-forming process significantly reduces processing and handling time in the factory as well as cutting preparation and handling time onsite.

Preparing conventional heavy structural steel members for installation requires multiple handling instances including sorting, cutting, welding, blasting, painting and repeated cleaning. By contrast, X-CALIBR™ sections are cold roll-formed from clean, pre-galvanised steel and do not require cleaning or painting. And because they arrive onsite fully assembled as members and ready to be connected, handling time is dramatically reduced to just a few steps.

Precision-made with Howick technology

X-CALIBR™ is manufactured in our Taupo factory using Howick precision roll-forming technology. Starting with a coil of G450 Z450 galvanized steel, X-CALIBR™ steel sections are roll-formed, then cut to size and pre-drilled before being assembled and connected with rivets and connecting plates, to form a complete steel member.

Easier to install onsite

In using X-CALIBR™ the onsite installation process takes mere hours instead of days. More members can be delivered at a time, reducing transportation costs and minimising the need for heavy equipment during unloading. Using large, hollow-tube rivet technology, members are assembled with a small crew, and erected with standard lifting equipment.

X-CALIBR™ Tokoroa Installation 

We worked with a local developer to fabricate a 25m x 44m industrial building in Tokoroa.

The building is constructed entirely with X-CALIBR™ rafters, columns, girts and purlins. The X-CALIBR™ components were manufactured in six days and the portals were assembled and erected in just four hours using a single crane and an access lifting platform.
